Famitsu is reporting that the small Japanese developer Jaleco has been sold off to online gaming company Game Yarou. Not much is known about what Game Yarou intends to do with existing projects and assets, such as the action RPG Kizuna.

Being facetious, I hope. The only current-gen console game Jaleco has released is a super-niche, Japan-only truck game on the Wii. Other than that, a few DS games that nobody has heard of outside Japan.

If anyhing killed Jaleco, it was over-dedication to niche gaming in the Japanese market. They needed to make something they could export.
