no way! only the french one MIGHT be better than ours, but just barely (if it is)! and my opinion is only a little biased too (not hugely haha), as we usually criticize EVERYTHING from Brazil

I watched it, it was fine. That really was a mass of people, holy shiitake mushroom. I really liked Rick Warren, I thought he did well and Obama's speech was good as well.

I agree, the speech was nice, Williams peice was really nice, but that poem was dreadful.

Nice to know your maturity level.

 

As for the speech, the problem is that it lacked rhetoric. Pathos in particular. I just didn't feel it and that's why I felt down. It was still a good speech however.

President Bush's second inauguration cost approximately 42 million dollars whereas Obama's is costing approximately 150 million dollars (45m private donations).  There is a record number of 2 million people expected at Obama's.

What? Why the hell is 105 million of taxpayers money being spent on his freaking inauguration?!

What did ypu guys think of the theme of the speech? I for one am very glad that he wants to deal with the problems other presidents have put off, but I doubt he can get us out of a recession, increase social spending, fix persisting problems like SS, energy, infrastructure, school system, combat glbal warming federal debt ect and keep terrorists at bay.

HE should give up on global warming and increased social spending. In my opinion they are least important.
