WKC should have caught his eye. Seeing how well it sold on the PS3.

Because Kitase is from Square he sure loves 360 right? And it doesnt matter that all the games he is working on are on Playstation systems. Oh, and since his game is going to sell like 10-15 times more worldwide than the game you mentioned I dont see why he would care about it.

And that´s the reason he´s looking on the 2.5m+ sales of MH on PSP in Japan alone and not WKC on PS3. Although he didn´t mention it, the company as a whole is having their eyes peeled on the Wii as well from now on. DQX already confirmed on Wii, Echoes of Time on Wii, DS, more will follow. The confirmation will be the sales of MH Tri this year, very likely to be huge and bigger than the PSP ones.

MH 3 will sell good, but it won't outsell the PSP ones, it won't sell 2 million units.
Why? The biggest reason why MH is popular on the PSP (more popular than the PSP versions) is because it has local multiplayer. A console game can't have that (not in the same way as a handheld game can). Online appearantly isn't as fun.

I do agree we will see more Wii support from SE.

psp is a great platform for square's rpgs. it provides great graphics, and it puts money in their pockets obviously.

I stay to my opinion that MH3 will reach 2m in Japan alone.

I'll quote you on that (outselling MHP2G)

MHP2G sold more than 2.7m copies in Japan, and it's still in the top 3. It would be quite a feat for MH3 to outsell it.

Let´s see how that MH remake on Wii with the bundled MH3 demo will do first, then we can predict for MH3.

PSP is the platform SE has put out the best games this generation; peculiar.

Most definetely. Everything they've done on PSP has been fantastic. Even the remakes of FF 1 and 2 looked very nice!

@ memory

Well if MH3 has to pay-to-play online like MHG. I don't see it doing near as well as the PSP versions.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

Monster Hunter 2G is also still selling on the PSP with goodish numbers, it might even reach 3M......3M in one region and people are under the belief MH3G will not be produced.

The profit for the PSP MH games must be huge, the games surely would not cost anthing near the Wii version. Also the PSP version do not have online multi-player so that is another reason I just do not see the Wii version doing anything near the PSP numbers.
