I checked the Playstation website and in March 31 of 2007 it totaled up to 1.24 Billion, but for some reason they never recorded anything else after that, so does anyone know what it is now sinse it's been almost 2 years. Even a close guess would be nice.

And also how come VG Chartz doesn't have a total of the PS2 software sales?

I recall hearing it was around 2 billion.......but I'm not very sure. The source would probably be the one to ask.

Well as he posted Playstation website itself said 1.24 Billion in 2007, so can't be near 2 billion. 1.5 Billion is possible, PS2 games are still pretty popular in Japan I think and those music games sell well there still.

I believe it was estimated by BKK2 to be around 1.3 billion about 6 months back, so it is probably about 1.4 billion now.

The lifetime attach ratio is just short of 11 games per system I believe.

Well that works out pretty good actually, we have the numbers from Sony up until March 31, 2007, and the PS2 software/harware has always been tracked on this website ever since it began (2005) so if someone (I might do it if I get bored enough) just started adding up the numbers week after week after March 31 07, then we'd have a very good guesstimate of what the number is, then we could just go by that number each week from now on, right?
