Forums - Nintendo - Wii Dosent make 3rd parties money?

looking through these forums I see all the time that 3rd party companies dont make many sales with the Wii. I have pulled a list of 25 games that have each sold over 1 million copies. None of these developers on the list are Nintendo.
So how can people honestly think the Wii cant sell games? And most of these are not just what they call "shovelware".

Not to mention to break even point for wii games are low budget 100k to 350k high budge games to break even.

I TAKE NO SIDES

Damn......alot of those games are garbage....

Anyways anyone who says that doesnt know what theyre talking about. Like neotea said development for Wii is incredibly low compared to HD and more than likely if you reach 100k youve made profit.

I agree that the whole "3rd parties can't sell games on the Wii" is a huge misconception. However, I do need some sort of proof for your statement. I've never heard those numbers before.

It does make third parties money, but so does PS360 developement. Which makes more depends on a variety of factors and pretty much comes down to the strengths of the developers, the size of the publisher and nature of the project.

I don't think Wii makes developers as much money as some Wii fans I've read tend to think, just cause a game sells 500k is hardly the whole story, and developement costs can easily cost less then marketing.

So er, all console platforms are profitable and a successful third party will have a strong multiplatform initiative.

One thing I do find interesting is that the most successful Wii games have a strong household brand name attatched to them - Sonic, Resident Evil, Star Wars all the way down to High School Musical and Naruto. I think that's a strong evident for how third parties need to approach Wii developement.

By who's standards? Sure, I may not enjoy High School Musical, but, if I were to give the 1 million Wii owners who bought that game a copy of No More Heroes, they'd prolly go "Wtf is this crap?"

No haters gave up that argument long ago. Now it's good Wii games don't sell well. Oh wait that went away as well. It's good "hardcore" (the stereotype)/mainstream third-party games don't sell well on the Wii.

And when that is disproved I'm sure they'll switch to something more oddly specific. Oh they are persistent.

Found some links although they are quit a bit old so the development might of been lower by now.

I TAKE NO SIDES

Production Expense
PS3/Xbox360 > Wii

Revenue
PS3/Xbox360 > Wii

Profit
Wii > PS3/Xbox360

That's the usual, not sure how true it is though; I mean logically I could say that if a product operated at a loss, let's say MGS4 sold 200k while Game Party sold 1 million units, then lets say that MGS4 needed 800k units to break even that would mean MGS4's Revenue was 800k + 200k. Then let's say Game Party needed 20k to break even, then that means it's revenue was 1 million + 20k.

By that point Game Party would have the higher Revenue and profit. However MGS4 sold upwards of 5 million I believe, so it would be fair to compare it to M&S Wii which is around the same numbers, which had the higher profit? That's a no brainer. Which had the higher Revenue? That's a no brainer also.

Ans 1 : M&S Wii
Ans 2: MGS4

In both cases the software resulted in a profit, this is regardless of platform. What I see in the OP only makes my day a littler funnier.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
