If anything, Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. sales are a true indication of how big Mario is.

As a pure console Super Mario Bros. descendant, Mario Galaxy is more appropriate. Anyhow, Mario is far from over.

Pokemon, it just keeps me interested for longer.

Well i'd say Mario because the variety of Mario games are more enjoyable then Pokemon. Pokemon's only good game are the originals for GB/DS.

I cant choose, I love both franchises

Mario. No matter how much I love Pokemon, Mario is the better series.

Mario for me, Super mario world was the first game i owned and will always remember Mario .

For my personal taste I will say Pokemon. I have played more pokemon games then mario ones. Also pokemon has a really competitive side to it. Mario is still awesome though. I loved SMG and 64.

In terms of Franchise sales I think Mario will continue to keep pokemon at bay. Both of them are slipping away from the other franchises though.
