Well, I've played this and...well...it's not very good and it's understandable why Bamco is skipping it :(
While I can't comment too heavily on the story (my Japanese is passable but there's too much Kanji for me to cope with effectively) the gameplay is pretty drab--the mix between adventure game sensibilities and the sterile and banal combat just doesn't come off very well and there is way, way too much interruption through the first few hours (they seem to constantly take control away from you for cinemas, etc.)--this might be fine w/ the MGS crowd, but it drives me utterly insane.
The graphics also scream PS2 port (sorry, I know a lot of peole think from screens that it looks great but it doesn't when it's up on your TV): they're very murky and dark (no, not in a mood-enhancing way) and looks like another case of a developer doing as little work as humanly possible for a Wii title (i.e. it has the "I started life as a PS2 title" vibe).
And before you lash out at me, check my other Wii-related posts before casting me into the RROD.
