100% inaccurate. EA is legally bound to uphold any and all contracts negotiated by BioWare. If there was a contract in place, EA will have to uphold it. In fact, EA had to negotiate publishing rights with MS for the PC version of Mass Effect.

It's not as if a company can buy up another company and then ignore said company's debt, leaving all bills unpaid because "they didn't buy those products". This is the same thing.

With that said, I expect ME2 to be multiplatform.

Good luck with that, Pig. I tried the same a couple of posts up and I don't think anyone believes it. The make-believe land of "EA can do whatever it wants" will be the prevailing belief without regard to pre-existing, legally-enforceable contracts.

BUT, as you said, EA is a cash whore. They will milk every IP for everything it is worth. I'm sure they'll find a way to go multi-plat with ME2 and ME3.

I think you're kind of ignroing the fact that BioWare have said themselves that they could make a PS3 version of the game if they wanted too, which means that there aren't any legal roadblocks.

This fact has been quoted several times in this thread already.

Are you talking about this quote from the biowareforum you posted with Christ Priestly member of Bioware?

"They sure didn't. They paid over $860 million.

Sorry folks, this is just another rumor at this stage. Could BioWare make Mass Effect for the PS3 (or the PC, or some other platform) in the future? Yes we could, but we are not working on a PS3 version currently."

To me that doesn't say Bioware could if they wanted to.

One problem M$ own the rights to publishing the first game. So at best it will be 2&3.

Well, its coming to the 360. That's all we know. Anything more than that is MGS4 on the 360 and you know it.

Not surprised, exclusivew are pointless from a 3rd partys view. Even with an incentive whos to say where the next game in the series could go.
I'd like to play this.

Ynwa.

well Mass Effect sucks so does it matter?

Would still be good to have so we can rub it in 360 fanboys faces that we have it. I'd rather have it and not want it, then not have it.

You are still stinging from that whole FFXIII thing, aren't you?

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Mass Effect trilogy would be ported by EA if it came to PS3. EA ports on PS3 in the past have been substandard.

I could easily imagine the ME1 port being dodgy like that, but I think they would ensure that 2 and 3 were similar across both versions.

Do a google search for Mass Effect PC (or get the box if you bought it for PC like I did) and you'll see very clearly Bioware and EA on the box but no Microsoft since Microsoft did NOT publish the PC version, EA did.  Publishing rights only went to microsoft for the xbox version and only because Bioware is more of a developer then a publisher.  Now that Bioware is EA there is no need for Microsoft since EA is perfectly capable of publishing its own stuff.  They could easily do Mass Effect for PS3 and could put ME2 on any and all platforms as well.

It's been gone over several times before, even in this thread. EA negotiated with MS for the rights to publish ME1 one PC.
