Forums - Gaming - NON Biased, NON Fanboy, PS360 Owners answer me this ..

I think it's not a matter of which console you like but a matter of personal development. A (mentally!) grown up person is less likely to develop this kind of attitude towards someone else or gaming.

For instance I would bet all of my money that many people on this forum are claiming to be older than they really are.

Fanboyism is a pattern of thought that emerges mostly from uncertainty: As teenagers most people see themselves as the centre point of their world, they are in an age of alteration and have just recently left their former life as a child (or are trying to do so at least), they feel unsafe and unconfident and don't know how to measure their "quality" as part of the society.
They don't know what the important values in life are for them. As teenagers mostly consort with people of their own age they measure their own value by watching the reaction of their contemporaries and try to become accepted among them. As their contemporaries don't know yet about their important values as well, they often try to become the "leader" of their social group. This explains why there are so many young kids and teens talking about how cool Halo and Need for Speed are or pre-teens sitting in the bus playing PSP even though those things are clearly thought to entertain the "real" adult gamer.

As young teenagers often lack the mental maturation (which we can't blame them for, when I was 15 I didn't know how important constancy, honesty and compassion are, honestly no one of us did and the ones who think "but I did!" now surely still lack that maturation) to be convinced in their own actions without the approval of their social group they think they are not worth a dollar if their social group doesn't tell them otherwise. That results in a thinking of "But I MUST be cool / accepted, otherwise I'm not worth anything!"

Now if such a person buys a console for example they often do that to show themselves "I'm cool, I'm worth something" but if they get the feeling that an important / big group of people thinks they could've done a better purchase they automatically defend themselves. Not their console, though. In reality they just try to convince themselves that they are worth just as much as you and me. That's why it is so hard to argue with a fanboy: They don't argue against you but against themselves.

Gamers older than 20 or so often play technically advanced games because they are "realism-freaks", because they like to play something technically involved, while a pre-mature person wants to compare his or her games to the games on other consoles to show himself (again, not the other person, why would the fanboy care?) that his purchase was "better" and that it justifies a social ascendency in his or her group.

In general most fanboy arguments are about "I'm better than you!"not "my system is better than yours!"

So for me it's not about which system does a fanboy prefer it's about how (pre-) mature is he or she acting?

So you're worth more than others now because they are "fanboys"? **facepalm**

Actually.. if PS3 fanboys and Wii fans annoy the 360 fanboys the most, and vice versa (x2).. .would it not be the case that a nonfanboy would find all 3 of them equally annoying?

So therefore, everyone who listed a particular fanboy is in turn a fanboy themselves.

Win.

Funny, I asked the same question when I joined the forum...

...and 360 fanboys are just perfect! Did I complete your commentary? Crap articles about their messiah huh? If you ask me: 1. What are you doing trolling the sony forums since you despise it's users?

2. The majority of articles posted on this site as of chrstmas season and beyond has been negative. Most of them, we have to thank 360 and wii fans for.

3. So you complain about pictures sigs too now huh? I also see sigs around here with people showing that nothing can "save" the ps3 and similar content..but those must not be a problem right? Seems to me that you just want a reason to despise. What a joke...

1. No I don't despite it's users, I'm an ex blinded Sony fanatics. I'm jsut an anti-Sony fanboys which is not the same.

2. That is because the media are negative about Sony at the moment right ? This forum is about VG sales and Sony is not good at it at the moment.

3. Same remarks for others I agree. But when it comes to shitty signatures full of propaganda sh*t, PS3 fanboys are the masters. You don't see a lot of 360 fanboys with a huge signature displaying their next game jewel...

Those signatures are f*cking childish anyway...

And exactly why is a signature with Killzone 2 gifs a problem for anybody? Someone likes a game, leave 'em be.

He can't leave them be. He is Sony hater and 360 fanboy

Oooh the easy answer: "If you are not with us, you are agains't us"... charming...

Forum is good for free exchange of opinions, but if you guys want to become walking ads, that is your problem.

But ok...  an agressive gifs with "PS3 rulez the earth and the other are retarded" is more easy than writing a proper opinion I guess...

C'mon now, even Crazzyman didn't have a gif like that.

Oh hell, how did you read THAT into this sentence? Is my English that bad again, today?

Edit: Read the sentence I marked for my opinion about that. Basically, if I did mean what you understood I'd think that I'm worth more than myself (as I wasn't any different), which doesn't make a lot of sense, right?

Just to make it clear: I don't want to hurt anybody with that post, I also don't want to accuse anybody in particular to be a fanboy.

I now understand that you have good intentions. I'm too used to reading spiteful stuff from people who think they have the right to insult others because they're "fanboys" thats why I immediately jumped on your comment. With the original comment, it sounded like the "fanboys" are trying to be "worth as much as the rest of us" which means that they must have been worth less to begin with.

All fanboys are annoying. You have uberarrogant Wii/PC fans, PS3 fans who like to open threads about a possible PS3 return while X360 fans forgot their own console and open threads to bash other consoles and use that horrible avatar sigs.
Although there is a thing I noticed: if you open a thread like "100 million X360/Wiis at end of 2013" people try to reason like normal ones. Open the same thread but exchange X360/Wii for PS3 and be prepared to the conflagration.
However is easy to see how PS3/Wii are prone to hating due to brand/momentum respectively, and X360 not so much because MS really put a huge amount of admirable effort on the X360.

Microsoft fanboys are the worst(fixed that for you). they invented console war

LOL you can't be serious?  "Console war" goes back as far as PC vs consoles, when people used to be like "Consoles are for kids, real gamers play on PC with our grown up text RPGs where we can tell our characters to fuck themselves" *snicker* *has asthma attack*

Then after it was previlant that NES and consoles were here to stay it became SNES vs Genesis, which again Genesis played the "Nintendo is for kids card" that failed, PS1 pulled the same card but also grew the market by pulling in nongamers like the guys that used to think they were too good for games and those that beat up the gamer nerds (AKA Jocks) then you saw games like Madden sell like crazy even though it was the same crappy game every year (funny how life goes in circles) and so on till you come to today... MS didn't start it and they won't be the end of it, my nostradomus prediction is the final console war will be between Nintendo, Sony, SEGA!, and... ATARI WITH AN EPIC COME BACK C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

actually 360 fanboys started to attack Sony before PS3 was launched. 360 fanboys couldn't stand competition and couldn't stand more powerfull console next to theirs, so they started to make anti ps3 songs, anti ps3 blogs, sony is doomed blogs...

That's been going on for ages in site forums, game magazines, friends, etc. nothing new... honestly, though things like You Tube has gotten the fans of this generations hate across to more people so now more people know of the claims, it's not just one group saying "Wii has no games" or "PS3 is dead" or "LOL RROD" now everyone knows those types of attacks and fanboys all over the net use them now...

than why is there no ''PS1 song'' Dreamcast song'' or N64 song? Because there were no xbox fanboys back than and entertainment was much better. People used to enjoyed their consoles without always worrying if console graphics are better than graphics from other console or is the console going to be disconnected. Why didn't PS2 owners made fun of GameCube owners when GameCube didn't sold good? Because there were no such  thing as Xbox fanboys to upgrade console war. Sure, there was always some geeks and nerds who were arguing which is better, but console war was nothing compared to console war today. But then the Xbots came. I am not saying PS3 fanboys are perfect. They also started to make songs and so. But the Xbots started

I already said things like You Tube helped spread the console hate to where everyone knows the arguments and the songs, but yes on a personal level it's just as bad as it used to be, on a wide spread level it's much easier now to let your voice be heard by others no matter how stupid of an argument you make...

Nintendo-fanboys. They have been always the worst ones.
