Starcraft 2 hands down. I think it should sell over a million in Korea alone.
And finally I can get some gaming out of my PC with all these great RTS games coming out.

Seriously starcraft is the best RTS ever made and the definition of the genre. I can fire it up right now and play for 10 hours.

i respectfully think you're nuts.

to me the worst part of AOE was the length, it just dragged, destroying buildings took ages.

starcraft was so accellerated yet still patient, that ultimate mix of brains and speed, like street fighter 2.

warcraft 3 was not good yes.

im just talking starcraft here, the purest online joy on pc.

Warcraft 3 was far better than SC, you both are crazy. Also Blzizard >>>> Ensemble RTS games. Comapring ANY rts to Starcraft 2 is just srupid. It's liek comparing MMORPGs to WoW..... just auto fail.

its prolly that i hated the fantasy setting.

tho i loved warcraft two cus it sounded so crazy when a bunch of guys were chopping down trees all out of sync to each other.



Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

I agree with the first 2 bolded

Third one not so much. Both the original Command & Conquer and Red Alert are better games In my opinion. Same goes for Warcraft 3 and Universe at War: Earth Assault. (Which is one of the best rts ever made period. Very underrated)

 

 

talking about play value, not FMV or Hero characters etc.  and also only talking about online.

no one plays rts for campaigns.

Try to read again.

 

Besides i play rts for campaigns. And i have a right to do so without you claiming that it's odd or anything of the like.

all im saying is the campaigns go by in a few days, online is the real meat and potatoes. 

i'll take solace in the fact that its generally accepted fact that starcraft is the best rts ever made.

I honestly have to say that I chuckled when I had read the thread title.

Starcraft II will be the clear victor in both sales and quality.

According to some topic I was in yesterday Crash Bandicoot  was the inventor and revolutionizer of the 3d platformer, and Mario64 wasn't a big deal to the industry.

The chances of this, I think, are very slim. Blizzard never disappoints (With the exception of some WoW patches).
