Forums - Gaming - Halo or Resistance ??

@papflesje
Sorry, but I haven't understand your last sentence.

Is it illegal to doubt on something?

Halo 3 was massively hyped, great marketing, so you can't compare sales directly as a measure for quality.

I also think Halo 3 was overrated.

Resistance 2 was hyped, too. Resistance2 had good marketing (it was a great part of the E3 for example and there were TV spots on German TV, don't know about US TV). And Nobody cares what you think. You have been proven wrong too many times.

Not every hyped game sells well. Check Haze. LBP had a great hype but it did not sell as outstanding as Halo did (Nobody with a IQ greater than toast expected this, i know. LBP sells decent, though.) But hype =/= great sales.

But the combination of sales, playtime, metacritic is a sign of quality. Resistance is worse than Halo in all of these three aspects. You can't deny it.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I love them both, Resistance is obviously more violent than Halo.
But if your lookin for a challenge Resistance 2 is definatly more difficult than
Halo . Idk how many times if dien on Normal in Resistance 2 on just 1 checkpoint.

Having played both, one could say they are in different tiers.

Halo 3 -> Half-Life 2 -> Call of Duty (Infinity Ward) -> Gears of War (Series) are tier 1 (Excellent) shooters.

RFOM -> Call of Duty (Treyarch) etc are tier 2 (Above Average) shooters

Halo 3 is simply a far better game if one goes by play time alone, which cuts through hype and marketing because you can't force people to spend time on the game and it holds up against other tier 1 type games on the same console.

The TS didn't ask for your doubts concerning a title you haven't played.

He wanted information from the games from people that have played them.

If you've played Halo, comment on that, and then state that you haven't played R so you can't comment on that.

Somehow still wanting to pass judgment on a title without actually having played it, is just plain wrong.

In all honesty Resistance 2 is has a much better campaign than Halo 3, hands down. As far as multiplayer goes I haven't really spent as much time on the multiplayer of halo 3 as I have with Resitance 2 (which has some amazing online multiplayer, especially 30 vs 30 matches)

" Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Obedience To God"

Halo of course by far the best implemented and supported fps

If you're talking Resistance 1...thats a laughable comparison.
I didn't play Resistance 2 for long and while it seemed like an improvement over part 1, I'd still give the nod to Halo 3 due to online being endlessly fun.

Now that Halo 3 has been in my xbox for over a year, you'd think that it would get boring but it jsut doesnt... Bungie is simply the best at making the game feel fresh with new modes, rank systems and games. Plus the level editor is awesome. Ive personally created 5 maps for halo 3 that i play with friends on a weekly basis.

Maybe in your opinion. I think my right/wrong ratio is better than most here.

An example:

"The last major advertising campaign before and during Halo 3's release was a series of videos marketed with the tagline "Believe", beginning September 11, 2007. These videos, with an estimated cost of $10 million".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing_for_Halo_3

That's more money than some high profile games costed to make.

Not every hyped game sells well. Check Haze. LBP had a great hype but it did not sell as outstanding as Halo did (Nobody with a IQ greater than toast expected this, i know. LBP sells decent, though.) But hype =/= great sales.

Haze didn't have a lot of hype behind it. I even think the game was treated a little unfairly by the media.

LBP performed very well considering the PS3 demographics. Halo 3 is a shooter on a console with many shooter fans. Sales in this regard mean little to determine actual quality.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Halo 3 copied LBP! (Confirmed)
