So they did it for Gears 2 but not for Resistance 2?  It's still inconsistent and stupid.

 DING DING DING! We have a winner. I use metacritic often to find reviews and opinions of the "top" critics but I have long ago found them to be very inconsistent with their methods.

This game looks amazing, must buy for sure!

The demo should be going up right around 12 EST for the EU. We'll have to wait till 5-6 PM.

I noticed in the SCEE thread that there are already 1.1 million retailer pre-orders for Killzone 2.

This made me recall some information I discovered about pre-orders today.

My store has 14 pre-orders for both versions of SFIV. The fact that both versions are so close makes sense, given that any dual console owners will be more likely to buy the ps3 version of the game because of the better d-pad.

We have 22 pre-orders for Killzone 2. I thought this might be a bit high, and that our store might be a fluke, but it seems I was wrong.

The ASM of a neighboring store came in today to pick up a DS, and we asked him about the pre-orders at his store. When we said we had 14 pre-orders for SF, he was somewhat shocked, and said his store's totals were lower (which is surprising given that his store is much older than ours, as ours only opened in May). When we told him we had 22 pre-orders for Killzone 2, he said he had more than that.

Basically, my store has almost as many pre-orders for Killzone as both versions of Street Fighter combined. For other stores (or at least this guy's store), the situation is even more in favor of Killzone 2.
