The PS3, unless there's some big price cuts, will probably never catch on to the 360 and definitely not the Wii, the PS3 fanboys have been waiting and saying for years that its the PS3 time now, lol, but the 360 has always passed it in sales months after months.
They can say, well look in Japan the PS3 outsold everything now, yeah right, they sold 20k units down there, the Wii sold 5 times that amount in America alone hahaha, what next, the PS3 sold 50 units in Africa and now its back on top selling charts.



My favorite games for this gen:

1. Gears of War    2. MGS4    3. Killzone 2   4. Halo 3(Underated by many)      5. Mass Effect

thats easy let me help you out... which one has sold most since the ps3 launched... the 360 has.

by reducing the cost on the ticket... its quite simple.

How will it outsell PS3 when not only does PS3 play blurays but it has a better game lineup then 360 and is taking 360 exclusives every day.

The answer is: It can't and it won't. You are right it is not a question of "if" but "when".

so... now you have had your little rant of nonsense... answer the question why dont you...

after all you are very confident arent you... when will the PS3 pass the 360?... month and year please.  

maybe this time you will give a straight answer.????

 

Why do you need an answer to this question?  Does it really matter?  If it does matter,  why?

By the end of this generation,  assuming the PS3 is out for 'XY' years and the 360 is out for 'XY' years.  It's totally reasonable to believe that the PS3 will end up with slightly higher sales overall. Sony has more room to grow (Or shrink in this case) in regards to their price and if nothing else as  Blu-Ray adoption grows people will purchase cheap PS3s for the Blu-Ray alone.

Now before you even start the whole argument of "Well by that time,  Will it matter??!!!!".   Let us realize that in reality if both consoles end up with very similar end points,  essentially these consoles have sold relatively comparable amounts across the same time spans.  So it never really mattered much.  Both consoles are essentially equals in the consumers eyes.

It's pointless to discuss with you. And yes, it's impossible to the PS3 to catch the 360 and the 360 to catch the Wii. It's pure mathematics.

Riddle me this,  What was the PS3/360 gap just before the 360 holiday price cut?    How did it grow this quickly?    Obviously unless the PS3 starts pulling off serious sales it's going to take quite awhile but impossible to catch the 360?  

The PS3 is still tracking higher than the 360.  If the PS3 lasts 10 years and the 360 lasts 10 years (At what has been the current sales trend between the two consoles)  the PS3 will be slightly ahead of the 360 for the generation.

Late in this generation post release of the XboxNext and PS4 the Xbox 360 and the PS3 will both still be for sale.

Software support will come from 3rd parties and at the time the 3rd party software created for the PS3 and the 360 will be the same. This will result in both consoles being supported for about the same length of time.

Microsoft will not drop support of the 360 until the console isnt selling any longer. So dont expect a hollow victory for the PS3 because the 360 is pulled from the market and the PS3 continues to be sold.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

It doesn't matter how hight it's tracking comapred to the 360 at the same time in it's life... what matters is that the 360 continues to outsell it on a WW basis by a good margin every week.

Not to mention the 360 has actually outsold the ps3 every year the ps3's been out and the ps3 is down yoy. I will never say 100% that the ps3 is out of the game but its looking less and less likely to be able to catch up by the day.
