Actually the dog that has the ball is Nintendo, and the little dog is all the fanboys yelping at Nintendo to give up the ball, because they don't have a real videogame system.  

 

IF we were talking about Nintendo I would agree with you...but... were not... so I won't.

You didn't get the point. I didn't talked about how long PS3 will be on market i was talking how long PS3 hardware can last. Hardware can last over 10 years unlike 360 which can last 3 years maximum.That was my point. And accoridng to Sony PS4 will have PS3 backwards compatbility.

 

And according to Sony the PS3 will have PS2 backwards compatability.  Oh wait...

Show me a store I can walk into and purchase one of those consoles...

I own a 60gb version I know what versions offered what.  The point is that SONY were the ones who over-engineered their console and as a result had to reneg on one of their "core values" of the Playstation brand.

well, unlike Microsoft, Sony actually has 2 consoles and 1 handheld on the market. PS3 will probably have PS2 compatbility when PS2 is going to be disconected. You can always buy 60GB PS3 on ebay

How does that matter for bc? Sony has 2 consoles on the market RIGHT NOW and fails to give backwards compatibility. And you really think, while Sony is hemorrhaging money that they will include a feature the initially cut to reduce costs? Laughable.
