Oh come on! LBP was not bundled to the extent VP was. It was just an official bundle, not a praticaly forced bundle like VP, Kung Fu Panda, Indiana Jones, Motorstorm (a couple of months back). I like to think that a good game sells well regardless of platform, but this just isn't the case. Look at Valkyria Chronicles and No more Heroes.

It is just a intuative belief that LBP wouldn't have sold as well if it was a Wii or 360 exclusive. I can not prove this. For that I am very sorry.

No More Heroes is the best example you could have chosen for my arguement. It is the best selling game the studio has ever released. It chattered their expectations. It sold so well in America they threw a party after the initial sales numbers were in. The game was an amazing success despite the fact that the Wii doesn't push hardcore games stereotypically. Valkyria Chronicles I am unfamiliar with, but seems to have sold rather well for a SRPG. If you want to try a couple of different examples feel free. Just remember there is no absolute metric of success.

Starcraft 2 ID: Gnizmo 229

Playing my way through the single player now and it is a very nostalgic experience, reminds me a lot of some of the old NES games. Media Molecule is quickly gaining a lot of respect in the game world!

Here's my two cents.

I played it for half an hour and hated it.

I played it for another hour, and now I love it.

Give the game a chance. You won't like it at first, but given time, once you get used to it, you'll think it's awesome.

You decided you hated it only only half an hour of play time?

Bolded: Agree 100%

Well I don't know about NA, but No More Heroes got quite a lot of TV adverts in the UK/Europe. Especially for the time of year, Jan/Feb.

No More Heroes, success for the studio. Deserved to sell better based on quality of game. Same with Valkyria Chronicles. Best RPG I have played this gen.

NMH didn't have any real advertising in the US at least, didn't get shown at E3 on the main stage and all the trade shows, didn't get a mention in every Nintendo press release, didn't get endless internet threads written about it, didn't get the best reviews, didn't get any bundles. Really all it got was word of mouth.

Bolded: I disagree. Thats one thing it did get. Also reviews were pretty good weren't they?

Metacritc average was 85, so decent but not high like SMG. Yes there was quite a bit a lot of talk on internet threads, about the same as Z&W maybe. I don't put too much stock in that anyways. My main point is that it didn't get any real backing from Nintendo like LBP, which pretty much got everything but the kitchen sink.

I have no plans to get a a Playstation 3, but if I were to get one, this would certainly be the first game I would get.  It does look like a lot of fun.

Well, LBP is definitely one of my all time favorite games. I dunno about best game ever, but it's certainly up there. There's just so much stuff to do, and the game is way too fun to play with other people. I don't think I'll get sick of LBP for a very, very long time if ever. ^_^
