No More Heroes is the best example you could have chosen for my arguement. It is the best selling game the studio has ever released. It chattered their expectations. It sold so well in America they threw a party after the initial sales numbers were in. The game was an amazing success despite the fact that the Wii doesn't push hardcore games stereotypically. Valkyria Chronicles I am unfamiliar with, but seems to have sold rather well for a SRPG. If you want to try a couple of different examples feel free. Just remember there is no absolute metric of success. |
Bolded: Agree 100%
Well I don't know about NA, but No More Heroes got quite a lot of TV adverts in the UK/Europe. Especially for the time of year, Jan/Feb.
No More Heroes, success for the studio. Deserved to sell better based on quality of game. Same with Valkyria Chronicles. Best RPG I have played this gen.
