Forums - Sony - Could Apple end up buying Sony?

@ NJ5

Thanks for catching that. LOL If Nintendo was only worth $51.79, I definately would buy them myself.

@ Squilliam

Yeah thanks a lot for that vision. I may not sleep for weeks.

i think a merger is a possibly , but not a buy-out.

Not even Microsoft at this moment could swallow Nintendo, and the child of that partnership would be freakish.

Nintcrosoft?

Mictrendo?

Ewwwwww.

Im staying away from that thought and this thread, lest I see this dirtyness again!

And you even missed the obvious Necrosoft ...Although actually some pervs and emos could even like it

why would a succesful company like Apple want a cash bleeder like Sony in thsi economic climate?

Step 1 Apple Buys Sony

Step 2 PSP discontinued to focus on the Iphone

Step 3 Walkman line discontinued to focus on the Ipod

Step 4 All computer related products discontinued to focus on the Imac

Step 5 = profit?

Apple has no reason to buy Sony. I could see them potentially buying a couple of Sony's 1st party studios to make Iphone and MacOSX games

@Goddog: I believe according to rumours every other bigger company have been contacting Nintendo in the thought of buyout. Which of course is possible, but you don't "buy out companies".
Thinking what would piss Yamauchi off, would be to think Nintendo could be bought out.

@richardhutnik: Well, it indeed would need to go down in in price. Making a bid would cause stock value to go up and the trade would be to funded with Apples own shares.

I think some people are forgetting that every company is currently losing a lot of money. Its not like Sony's situation is unique. Hell, they are way better off than a lot of companies in the market right now.

People on video games sites seem to have a very narrow view of the world...and you know its funny all three of these graphs look pretty much the same...

Sony:

Microsoft:

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

@Akuma: By "a lot of companies" you mean the US car manufacturers and a few banks?

If you're going to use charts for comparison, you should make sure they are the same scale. The scale of Sony's down turn is much bigger than MS or Nintendo.

wtf

is this place like a safe haven for dumb threads?

@Akuma: And to add what FishyJoe said, you should include the companies debt into the charts. As i said, the US car manufacturers seem to be the closest to Sony at the moment.
