Guys. I don't think you realize how liquidation works. You will not see 50% off of any video games. Everything worth a dime will be sold out at the 10% off phase. Then, the crappy games will be marked down to 20% and by then, everything will gone.

It's very sad to see a big company like Circuit go down. I work at Best Buy and while we got more business, it was nice to have competition right across the street.
Good luck to all those who lost their jobs.
On the positive side, other retailers can now make more business and hopefully avoid the same fate.
In a big economic downturn, there's simply not enough space for as many companies as in the good times.

the positive side? there is what 35,000 employees it said. That means there are 35,000 people without a job as of now and need to look. They ain't gonna be spending any money on wants right now. This hurts the economy.

I was just trying to find something positive amid all the troubling news. Companies in the limbo of bankruptcy can hurt other companies by managing to have low prices since they're under court protection.

They'll probably start with something like 20-30% off storewide, then as the deadline in March approaches go up to 50, 60, 70, or whatever percent is necessary to move everything. That's the way it went down when the Comp USA near me closed down last year. That way they can preserve at least some of their margin with goods that are expected to sell better, and soften the blow a bit.l |
Good Guys was bought by CompUSA though. They were just eliminating the majority of there inventory to incorporate it into CompUSA. CC is bankrupt. I wouldnt expect too many steap discounts, especially on things with no margin like game consoles. Anything bought on credit......most of there stuff.....will end up going back to the manufacturer. I would expect most stores to start shutting there doors within the next week.

CC did get rid of all there high paid employees for lower wage ones. So for a lot of them it shouldnt be that bad to get another job. Its the ones that actually made good money that will be hurting the most as those jobs are not around right now.

Eh, you could still make 50 or 60 a year selling TVs if you're good at it.
This is Sad :(
I'm guessing it means the ones in Canada are going under as well. I may go & pick up some more Sanyo Eneloop batteries when liquidation starts.
