not sure how that's obvious, because the storyline in GTA IV was highly praised and a lot of people like Vice City and others.

And I still wonder why......
you have to play the 1st 2 if you want to know the story. It's a direct sequel

| Chrizum said: Amazing. So this plays somewhat like GTA, as in, can you hijack vehicles and run down people? ![]() |
actually I think it doesn't feel like GTA, for in Yakuza you can't hijack vehicles and in fights your focus definatly is on melee weapons and hand to hand combat (even though there are guns you can use)
the far better comparison is Shenmue
and although it does have tons of side quests (in Yakuza 2 I did like 70 sidequests and I guess I spent more time on those as on the main story) and many things you can do apart from playing the story, I wouldn't classify it as a "sandbox game", but rather as a Beat'em Up RPG
WOW!!!!!!

ahh, gotcha. That must be the demo I downloaded form the Japanese store.
@ windbane )
indeed, there were two demos of Kenzan up at the japanese PSN Store - one with some minigames and one with a bit of exploration
