actually I think it doesn't feel like GTA, for in Yakuza you can't hijack vehicles and in fights your focus definatly is on melee weapons and hand to hand combat (even though there are guns you can use) the far better comparison is Shenmue
and although it does have tons of side quests (in Yakuza 2 I did like 70 sidequests and I guess I spent more time on those as on the main story) and many things you can do apart from playing the story, I wouldn't classify it as a "sandbox game", but rather as a Beat'em Up RPG |
