Nintendo doesn't really compete head-on with xbox - both MS and Nintendo have said this. MS is obviously working on growing into the market that Nintendo presently holds more-or-less single-handedly, but at this point MS knows that they need to beat Sony (and that they are beating them, but the game isn't over.)
