Thanks, IGN, for telling me not to buy a game I like. You're a shining example of journalistic professionalism.

And thanks, people in this thread who've never played the game, for pointing out that I only like it because I'm a delusional fanboy. I trust you guys are so hardcore you know it sucks just by looking at it. I hope one day I'm hardcore enough to judge games based only off my hardcoreness, and also to look down on people who have different tastes. One can dream....

I'm glad I've finally been shown the light. I'm burning my copy of Wii Music and buying 15 FPS's to make up for it. All my friends who enjoy Wii Music will be sad, but they're just idiot casuals anyways.

This reminds me of a conversation overheard playing TF2...

Player 1: I'm so hardcore, I masturbate with sandpaper!

Player 2: Pfft, that's nothing.  I'm so hardcore, I just bang my junk between two rocks!

Personally, I think the concept of Wii Music is interesting, but I have the musical talent of boiled cabbage.  However, my wife plays piano and both my kids seem to have an interest and/or aptitude for music, so I may get it at some point.  I'll probably try it (and suck, no doubt), but I'm certain that I will enjoy it.  I guess that means I can't be hardcore. :(  Though apparently, I gave up my right as a hardcore gamer as soon as I bought a Wii.

You might be more talented than you think!

Holy Crap!  That was awesome!

Now I'm hungry for some reason...

I have only played one 3d sonic game and that was on the gamecube. the first 3d sonic game on the gamecube. (not sure what it was called right now so in case more than one released)

But I actually found it to be really fun. Running super fast down the streets and all that stuff. I had fun, so did my brother and sisters. Me and bro were probably 16ish at time. And the sisters had a lot of fun too, and even more fun they had doing the weird little creatures thingy it had.

So I dont' know if all sonic 3d games are like that, but if they are. Then sonic is getting quite the bad rap for his games when they aren't that bad. If I had a steady income I would own more sonic games. But when only buy 4-5 games a year at most then it gets quite picky on which games to buy

Imagine you had a friend who was really funny and a lot of fun to be around ...

Suppose this friend started to experiment with drugs and this changed his personality a bit, he was still an interesting and fun guy but he did some things that questioned whether he was really all that good of a person any more.

Over the next few years this friend whored themself out a whole bunch to get money for the hardest drugs available, and these drugs so warped their personality that they were constantly a gigantic ass and you were worried that they were going to mug you for your change.

Now your friend is trying to get sober and sometimes reminds you of why you liked them in the first place while other times they are lying naked in the street all "Wacked out" on something.

The 3D Sonic game you would have played would have been Sony in his experimentation stage ... Sonic and the Secret rings represents a clean and sober Sonic, and most other new Sonic games are Sonic naked in the street.

Why did you have to go and give me a mental image of a naked hedgehog?

It was Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. Hmm didn't know it was a number 2, but just looked at that is what it was.

So what your saying is that mine was sonic just trying out and having Weed a few times. He was still cool and fun to hang around, but over the years he kept trying out harder and harder drugs and now he is on Heroin or something.

So Sonic shoots up smack?

No, he's the methed out guy with three teeth and no shirt on running from the law on any given episode of Cops yelling, "She hit me first!"...

That said, Sonic Adventure 2 was pretty awesome...

Is that what those little creatures where called?  I spent quite a bit of tiem with them.  You know feeding them certain items and all that and getting like Angel ones and sweet devil looking ones and all that.  I dont' remember what the point was of them.  Couldn't they go into their own little olympic type games or something.

But yea I just saw IGN gave that game like a 6.7 or something.  Man seems like some of the non-(brawl, kart or other amazing multiplayer games) games that I have close to 100 hours on are all rated below 7's.

Just confirms what I believe about game critics. They aren't here to give us reviews any more, they want to actively control sales and drive people towards *only* the kinds of games they want to see more of. (And we know Wii isn't what they want...)

If that was the case IGN wouldn't have given Resistance as high a score as Gears 2, LBP a 95, and Valkyrie Chronicles a higher score than Fable 2.  Also, they wouldn't have given Folklore the 90 it deserved.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

This thread is epic in about three different categories, plus an honorable mention for the food music.

Yeah, but I don't like to have to pay $50.00 to have to think for myself. And what you're saying, have you ever heard of the social psychological principle of cognitive dissonance?  It basically says that if you are compelled to do something, then you will say that you really enjoy it more because you want to have a justification for why you enjoy something other than admit the truth about it.

I have done experiments on it in fact. It does not in anyway apply here though. At least not in the way you seem to want to apply it. Unfortunately for you the reason people are defending the game is likely because they actually enjoyed the game. Unless the people here are somehow compelled to respond (which they are not) this is just a genuine reflection of their personal views.

Wiistian? That's terrible. Even Wiitard was a better word than that.

Try something that actually rolls off the tongue, like Wiipublican or Wiiligious zealot.

I think Wiiastines would be the best. A subtle play on Phillistines. The added a is needed to make the word roll off the tongue though which slightly diminishes the immediate connection. Still I think it conjures the desired imagery and is far less directly insulting than wiitard.
