I like using R2 to shoot...

R2 for shooting and L2 for aiming is an epic fail on their part, its like they never even used the controller before. Its really bad when companies can't even get the controls right. I know Far Cry2 also has some screwed up aiming, its like these guys don't even care.

What are you talking about? COD does R2/L2 shoot/aim flawlesly.

CoD uses R1/L1 to fire and aim, L2 and R2 are the grenades.

Sounds good. I really liked FEAR and am looking forward to this. I like the option to define my own control layout so I hope they add this. Every FPS (heck every game) should allow this.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

@Parasitic

thanks. I guess I'll wait... So by the impressions so far is it better than FEAR1, adjsuted for time inflation. If so, it has a serious shot at AAA.

If there's lots of time riding the mech ("Powered Armor"), then I'll definitely buy this. I just tried it out again...it's really great. It has a very good feel to it. Almost as good as riding Metal Gear Ray in MGS4. Too bad it's a really short part of the demo =/

Whether or not it'll be better than the first depends on how the campaign is because the way things are now, it feels pretty much exacly like the original, which isn't a bad thing. Right now, the things they need to fix:

- "Static" on the screen - I understand what that static is supposed to be, but it just looks bad....they need to remove it. The mech has it much worse. It reminds me a little of when I was playing PS3 before I got my HD TV.

- Controls - really bad right now. An option for custom configurations can easily solve this.

- Framerate - Some minor drops in some areas. It's extremely noticable, but still acceptable. When you're on the main menu and leave the controller alone for abit so that the random gameplay footage starts showing, you'll see how amazing the game looks if it was running at 60 fps.

I'll probably end up buying the game.

Thanks.

Yeah, I don't have much experience with the PS3 controller. I know that using the back R/L buttons on the 360 is the standard, I don't think I could play any way else. So I thought it was similar for ps3 as well...guess not.

So what I'm hearing is that it is more of the same as the prequel? Oh dear...

Im sure it wont have mini games, or sections where you rock out with the guitar.

Fyi, I hate minigames in almost shapes and forms and games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band are the death of me. I just like my FPS games to be more than shallow attempts at cheap Asian horror rip-off and bringing back gimmicks that have been done better before (slow-mo in Max Payne games has this beat with one hand tied on its back).

Let's not get into this again, I did not like F.E.A.R (or Bioshock or Crysis or GTA IV) regardless of review scores.

hmm... im waiting for the full version of the superior version (PC) anyway =P

lol...its all good man.

FYI FEAR 1 was first FPS to do slow mo successfully. They have the right to keep using it...where all those other rip offs ripped it off from them.

I'd like to gree with you  but that's FALSE. Max Payne 1 was the first with bullet time.
