Maybe Mario is the black knight?

Ummm, I don't know what this contributes to the conversation, but I read, in an issue of Nintendo Power, an interesting "what-if" sort of suggestion: a Sonic the Hedgehog game done as if it were on the Super NES for WiiWare, which I for one thought was a brilliant concept... Ask and we shall receive, anyone?

How would that even work?  The two are from totally different genres of platforming.  The very elements that made Sonic's original games fun are a tad bit different from those elements that made Mario games fun IMO.

it would be really interesting to see mario and sonic in a platformer. i wonder how it would work out, but itd be interesting.

Long have i fantasized about a Sonic and Mario meeting (time which could have been better consumed doing, well, anything), but my vision was based upon Sonic Adventure, with a paralell story for Sonic & Mario, Tails and Luigi, Knuckles and Wario, Shadow and Shadow Mario (Bowser Jr), Eggman and Bowser, and Rouge and Daisy, with Amy and Peach playing ancillary roles

In this case, i could imagine, perhaps, a Mario parody, or a platformer parody

But it certainly puts it more into the Wii-bound camp, which is nice

I just thought of something: If you click the "p" in "produce" it emits a short song... Maybe that song is what Sonic's old theme would sound like on an NES... Which means, if this is the case, the Tom N. theory holds water...
