Hello Guys.I just got a ticket for speeding at a 45mpg zone and i was supposedly at 67mph.

At the moment he caught me,i was behind him and i never even got in front of him.Can a police officer get your speed or take a guess if you were at that speed but behind him while at that speed.can they like point a laser gun behind theyre car or sumthing like that.The law here(PR) is a bit heavy.$50 and everything additional mile is $5 so i got almost $160 fine.

Its really sad what i went through today. :(

In the US (at least NY), yes they can use their own spedometer to "guess" what speed you are going.

Also, this is the type of thing I'm used to reading on motorcycle forums, not video game forums

You think 160$ is a lot!?

Here it's about 10$ per kilometer over the speed limit and 1.6 Km = 1Mile

If you do the math it would be around 350$!

You have no symapthy from me, I hope you don't just get fined I hope you fucking get banned for life, late for college or not. Turning up 5 minutes late for a lecture is better than killing someone/yourself. My gran was killed by a speeding car!!!! and three guys I knew from my year in high school have ben killed by idiotic motorists.

I've never gotten a ticket for anything (I'm 17) but the fastest I've gone is about 105 in a 60.

If you were behind him doing 67 that means he was going just as fast therefore he was breaking the law as well since it does not appear to be going to an emergency.... if you were in the U.S. and had a good lawyer you can get this dropped, but depending on how many points you have it might not be financially worth it to bother.

I'm happy if I get a speeding ticket for $160.

My lowest thus far has been a $220 ticket and that was almost a decade ago.

BTW, congrats on the 67 in a 40. Nice. I once got clocked at 140 in a 55. The cop was in a good mood and wrote it for 85 (the minimum before I had to go to jail). It must have been my charming personality.
