I'm quite sure the game will score well (~85-90% on average) and the excessively positive talk will die down and go to a discussion about tactics or fun play instead

at the same time the excessively negative talk will die down aswell and there shall be peace in the communities around the world (well, until the next hugely expected exclusive game arises that is)

You are forgetting the potential meltdowns regarding sales numbers, overtracking/undertracking and metacritic scores. However I expect KZ2 to do well in those areas, so hopefully it won't be too bad.

Yet having this huge number of threads (especially if its got no new info) on any game is enough to start pissing people off to a point where they'll start to ignore or even hate the game unduly.

I suppose thats the root of my problem with "over hype" on forums.

By all means, hype up a game if you're excited, but be careful to not reach a point where people will just start to get pissed off.

"peace" in internet terms doesn't mean complete harmony, but only that there is no all-out war - ofcourse there will still be some quarrels between a few users

there will always be offensive posts within a mass of happy and excited users, but calling these out won't help at all, instead it will most likely propel the hate with endless smearing discussions about why game a is sooo superior to game b, c and d (and why in turn this isn't "true")
