Forums - Sales - Why dont we have "sales gap" chartz?

Including a sales gap chart mustnt be difficult. I mean all that has to be done is to subtract the sales of one console from the other in a selected period, using the database. For example you could choose PS3 and 360 for any region and any given time, and it can track the data by raw gap or one as a ratio of the other. This can be extended to draw market share etc. Any ideas?

I just use the figures on the front page and apply simple maths...

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Ok but it takes time every time, and it would be much clearer to see the trends going on with many different possibilities!

People are really getting lazy.

It's not really lazy at all. If you want to check a gap between consoles (or groups of consoles compared to another console/group of consoles) over a long period of time, it'd require a ton of data entry or saving the page and pulling the numbers from the source. One is very time consuming and the other is beyond most people's skills.

it's very troublesome... it probably would take more time then actually creating a means to use the data to create a chart.... but I can't mine the data from the servers so *shrugs*

I think he's talking about the charts that already exist and already post data from the DB over time.  Adding a feature to track the sales gap would be nice, it wouldn't be overly difficult, and it has no more to do with lazy the charts that already track performance over time.

It's about making data more accessible.

I have to further explain myself... troublesome.  I know the data is there already... they would would have to create another graph... it does take time and effort not to mention the slightest error f's everthing up.
