Seems this new character has a decently modelled nose and actually looks humanoid, versus those freaks with triangular jaws at the bottom of the scan.

Is this game coming out for PC? If so, I might pick it up.

wat?

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Some of the Final Fantasy games have come out for PC and some haven't. What's so weird about that question?

You obviously know the answer to that. :/

No I don't. That's why I was asking. There were news stories floating around six months ago saying it was coming to PC, and an equal number of news stories dismissing that. I know it's being built on PC. Was there ever a final verdict as to whether it's coming to PC?

How are we supposed to know better then? That's why I find the question weird, because asking it right now is kind of like asking if Final Fantasy Versus XIII is going to come out on 360 as well, or is Star Ocean: The Last Hope really a 360 exclusive?

In two words: Who knows?

You might not know better, but I was hoping that someone posting in this thread might. You see, I have but a passing interest in this game. I caught the big Xbox 360 announcement a few months ago and rumours of a PC release after that. I don't assume to have heard all of the news on FF XIII between then and now.

I find it weird that you dismiss my question. There are grounds for it seeing release on PC (prior entries in the series, current development processes). The answer isn't obvious.

If you're saying it's impossible to answer because the game hasn't been released, I don't see your point. I wasn't asking whether we'll see a final product on store shelves, but whether the intent was currently there. If you say you're coming to a party, that doesn't mean you can't be absent if something arises. Catch my drift?

If you're ultimately saying "who knows?", you're probably just as clueless as I am on the matter. In which case, why make any comment at all? In the meantime, zexen_lowe has given a firm answer. Thanks for ... trying?

Wow, seriously, you typed all this? o_O

Keep your energy for something else man. It's the Internet. I say prepare for the worse and buy either a 360 or PS3.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

FF VIII is my second (maybe first) favorite FF ever and this guy looks exactly like Irvine, just with a different face.

by saying different race , it's different. also irvine had a coat, cow boy hat and only use one gun.

"His name is サッズ・カッツロイ 'Sazh Katzroy', and he is a middle aged man. He dual wields pistols, has a baby chocobo, is a gentle hearted person easily moved to tears, possesses good judgment and a sense of social responsibility."

irvine was a womanizer. >_>

How did I know that if a black character is announced people would hate on him and SE. Idiots.

It is great that they have put a character like this in the game. And he looks very interesting.

Is it so wrong to hate Nomura's designs, regardless of race, gender, or creed?

People are constantly hating on Nomura's designs. Popular things tend to be hated a lot. And it's okay when people are hating on Nomura for using so many belts and zippers, for his style. I like Nomura's style but I can see how other people can not.

However this character is absolutely different for Nomura, and probably for the whole jRPG genre. He is clearly a guy (you cant mistake him with a female no matter how hard you try), he lacks zippers and only has a few belts. He is an adult, not a 16 year-old pretty boy. And he is black, dammit! A normal looking black dude, in a japanese RPG game! And he looks absolutely nothing like Balthier, Irvine or Barret.

That's what is so cool about him. He looks so different from everything else Nomura and other jRPGs have produced recently. And that's why he is destined to be hated by many. That's a shame really.

O rly?

Look at Irvine again and you'll notice he's an Irvine of lower quality.

Considering that FFVIII is my 2nd favourite FF game ever and that I have finished it at least 7 times I sure as hell know how Irvine looks. And he certainly looks nothing like this guy. The black dude's personality also seems to be completely different.

I finished it 4 times, and its enough for me to see that he's a splitting image of Irvine. I'm not the only one who thinks so either.

he will be nothing like irvine according to the character description he is very sensitive is a gentle hearted person easily moved to tears, possesses good judgment and a sense of social responsibility. thats nothing like irvine. opps already posted.

Bascially, he's Irvine Kineas and Balthier with a little brown skin tossed in for political correctness... God I hope FF Versus XIII beats this one in character design...

Dressing style. Incredibly identical.

Oh I think the guy looks fine, and he's a far cry from most of Nomura's designs (Barret comes to mind). He's unexpected in a Final Fantasy game, but there's nothing wrong with that.

All I ever said is that he wasn't like Reddas, though that isn't clear in and of itself - I mean to say that his visual design doesn't quite mesh with everyone else and I'm worried what that might mean for his character.
