These predictions are more about wishing for a competitor to suffer, then actually predicting things.

Mike, do you really consider the Playstation 3 'considerably outselling' the X360 by 12.5% to be a true statement?

Last I checked, that 12.5% or 500,000 units isn't an amount to consider a large amount...Especially given the fact the 360 beat the PS3 in North America by large enough margins to negate that 500k lead in Europe + the 700k lead in Japan (on the year).

You never did explain to me the support behind your theory of a cheaper slimmer PS3.  I'd be interested in that.  But where is any information on such a thing?  Or support to believe it will happen?

 

It was rumored a little while back, maybe 1-2 months ago.  Also, theres a thread made just yesterday I believe about the size of the mobo and how much smaller it is now which came from the most recent CES show held only a few days ago.  I'm of the belief that the PS3 will be slimmed down twice - once possibly next year, then again 2-3 years later - based solely on it's size.  There's also information in the same thread about the mobo that states that Sony has come up with a way to compress the size of the blu-ray drive.  Once the GPU is the same size as the CPU, 45nm I believe, I firmly believe we'll see a slim(er) model.

That would be nice.  I am waiting to get a PS3 myself, until it becomes more of a valid option to me.  A cheaper, slimmer model would be nice.  Though I'd highly want BC.

I don't find the prediction that PS3 will on average sell 150,000 to 160,000 per week more than the 360 a very likely thing to happen this coming year.

It's a new adjective which comes from the nickname ;)

To clarify, I don't think the poster is a Crazzyman alt, but I do think his prediction is Crazzyman-like.

I will wait for Sony's report on hardware sales to retailers before determining the actual damage done by having no real PS3 entry price cut last year. But even if that did happen as anticipated IMO it would not have been enough to cover original expectations, for this games like Killzone 2 and Final Fantasy XIII would have been needed as well.

Y'know I heard some guy with a conspiracy theory about how he thought most of these kind of idiotic predictions that people will later use against every PS3 fan are actually made by alts of fans from other consoles to make the PS3 fans look bad. I didn't really give the theory much thought, but the fact that this was all started by an alt of Numonex makes me wonder how many other times it has happened.

We've also had a supposed Wii fan who turned out to be a concern troll (not the same thing but similar). However, I do find it hilarious that he got MikeB to bite the bait.
