EBGames, Gamestop. Who cares anymore. The fact of the matter, the corporation has lost touch with their customer base, and have lately begun to monopolize the gaming retail industry, espically the used games and have really begun to treat their customers like total crap.

This is a true recounting of the last 2 experiences I've had with EBGames.

Sunday Janurary 11th, 11:02AM - I want to place a quick reorder for lord of the rings conquest down, they have a pretty dang good deal. Trade in select games and get a 19.99 price on the new game. I picked two games I've beaten and didn't wish to play anymore. Assassin's Creed and Red Steel. They are closed till 12:00PM... right...

Sunday Janurary 11th, 12:06PM - I enter the store wish the used games, plus a few more in hand so I can add more to my gift card and make some purchases in the near future. I explain I want to use their online offer and get the discounted price on the new game. The lady told me the deal expired on december 31st. Funny, the flyer said Janurary 31st. I explained about their own offer and even went as far to go to a local futureshop to print out their own flyer to present it to them. She wouldn't budge. I left disgruntled.

Tuesday Janurary 13th, 10:02AM - The store says open at 10:00... the store is currently closed...

Tuesday Janurary 13th, 10:34AM - After waiting 30 minutes in -20C weather. (Too be honest, I plopped down at a nearby fast food place.) I decided to try my luck again, the store manager is usually in during the mornings of weekdays and is generally pleasant to deal with. I came back with the same loft of games I wanted to trade in, and he was more than happy to tell me that the offer is only valid on games that are more than 8 dollars. So Assassin's Creed and Red Steel. Being 6 and 7 dollars. Were not acceptable. Dispite being listed on the flyer as acceptable on the flyer. Fine... whatever, I don't care anymore. I just want the freaken game. I traded in my games and lucky me. I get some free music download cards. Great, I can expand my collection! It made me feel a tiny bit better. I finish the transaction and...

Augh, I can't stand it anymore. I want to torch the nearest EBGames cause this stuff happens to me on a VERY regular basis. The saddest part of it all, I'm even one of their REGULARS. I hate to see what they treat a non-regular.

Wow, that stinks. I stopped going to those stores a long time ago after I realized I'm just wasting my money. They get your games for like 5 bucks and then sell them for like 30, it's retarded.

That sucks..I buy majority of my games from Amazon unless there's a hot pre-order deal somewhere else.

Thats the 2nd time I've heard about amazon.com as another option, how are they for delivery to canada? They are most likely american based so out-of-country shipping may become problematic.

EB Games is the reason I went pro-bootleg with games last gen.

I had a similar story but instead of the game not being in stock they said I wasnt old enough for shadow of the collosus!!!

I was 13 at the time with no I.D..... fuck EB Games.

The part that pissed me off was that they were probably planning this from the start.

Thats an outrage. Id immediately write a letter to their head office and put everything in that post in the letter

Sell your games on EBay or Craigs List instead and you get more money for your games. EB Games are a rip off.

The saddest part about that is that's happened years ago obviously. If they treated you that way, they have obviously NOT changed their ways.

Somehow, I always get a smug vibe from them too.

Oddly enough I have only had good experiences with them. Only time it was bad when I went for chrono trigger the day it came out, and they lost the box that had it...
