No.

Other than the fact that Sony is broke, Level 5 is working on DS now with Layton and DQ, so... no.

Sony is broke? Since when?

You wouldn't have noticed I suppose, since you don't look at the links when people are "bashing Sony" (read: posting news).

In the last quarter, they've undergone debt financing, and taken a massive operating loss. Their debt is certainly higher than the amount of cash they have, and likely that's not even that much any more.

Get that sarcasm detector fixed :(.

Make it sound like Sony is dirt poor with nothing else left.

sony made it sound that way not him

Look:

All these games are going to be released on Nintendo systems in 2009, and some other doesn't have any specific date yet, all by Level-5.

Nintendo DS:

Dragon Quest IX (2009)
Sloan to Michael: Nazo no Monogatari (2009)
Tago Akira no Atama no Taisou Dai-1-Shuu: Nazotoki Sekaiisshuu Tabi (2009)
Inazuma Eleven 2(TBA)
The Another World (TBA)

And also, the two sequels of Professor Layton (not released in USA yet).

Wii:

Inazuma Eleven Break!

And their other titles for this year are:

Ushiro (TBA)
Cardboard War Machine (TBA)

Both titles for the PSP. None for the PS3. None for the 360.

As you can see... they sure love Nintendo. They are developing more games for Nintendo than for Sony.

The Utah Jazz just retroactively won the 1998 NBA Finals!

OT: No.

Seeing as the average VGChartz user here has more money than Sony at the moment... I don't think so.

Maybe we could all pool our money together and buy Level-5.

Can you buy companies with vgdollars?

Wasn't that just a rumor?

It wasn't even a rumor, just fanboy wishing. This is why it comes up constantly despite Level 5 being in a position where they have no intention of being bought.

It's like the FF7 remake. The more evidence against it, the more people suggest it absoluely has to happen.

@ Fernado

Inazuma Eleven Break doesn't have a platform.

Oh gosh, that was hilarious

360 IS OPERATIONAL AFTER 37 DAYS!

Actually Professor Layton sells too well for Level 5 to be Sony exclusive.

Pixel Art can be fun.

With what money? Sony is burning thru cash fast, and it is hardly in a position to ba making acqusitions...and some are still talking price cuts?

I think it's more likely that level 5 will buy Sony :P

Sony isn't as broke as everyone would like to think..

Regardless of their current situation they are still a multi billion dollar corporation capable of taking major losses and still operating normally with minimal side effects..

but buying a studio at the moment isn't going to happen its just not necessary the only group I see buying studios anytime soon is MS seeing as how Nintendo and Sony already have an amazing first party line up..

Predictions.

1. Wii will never reach 50% market share.

2. Kz2 will sell 1.3 first week 3.5 LT.
Sales predictions for 09.

PS3 - 32 - 34
X360 - 39 - 41
