I can say with 99% certainty that they didn't know about it before it's existance.

The fist time they all saw it and Wii Sports was at a collegue's house.

These people have never been gamers before this unless solitaire and minesweeper count.

All four of the guys are either in their sixties or are in their late 50's so the chances of them visiting a games shop to look at new stuff is pretty low.

In fact, they never even visited the shop themselves; they had a company mailboy go and physically buy them lol.

That said, i really shouldn't rule out the possibility of them getting more in the future because I'd never would have expected them to buy the system in the first place!

I see his logic

The Wii currently has nearly twice as many million sellers as the PS3
the Wii's market share is increasing
the PS3's market share is dropping
The Wii is receiving increasing 3rd party support
The PS3 is receiving decreasing 3rd party support

Therefore, the PS3 will overtake the Wii in terms of number of million sellers when the Wii undergoes negative sales

I wonder what I did think in my last post in this tread. Well, it was late, I was tired.

Wii:
About 12 games, I think, sold up to a million or more around Christmas 2008 and a few got allot closer to a million. And many others went up to Gold status.

Can anyone tell me how many PS3 titles has gone Platinum and close to Platinum between the end of October to last December?

Yes RB2 has a good chance at hitting 1 million, but remember RB1 hasn't done so yet on the PS3, and the console is now in a low popularity mode compared to the other 2, which will lower it's multiplat status.... but the decline of the PS2 at the same time should counteract that.

I didn't comment on the 3rd point, because I didn't know what "svr" stood for and in part I agree with you about NFS... but I don't see why you are pleased about such an awful series doing well on the PS3... although it is selling generally less with new iterations it seems. The Wii is however building up a base of fans for some sports, just not Madden.

John Lucas doesn't post much anymore, but he was one of very few (I think 2 others) to predict 20 million for the end of 2007 Wii sales, when everyone else was predicting around 15-16 million max.... he also predicted things like 60 million by the end of 2008, 250 million lifetime and that MGS4 would go exclusive to x360, He seems to predict things by either dreaming them or by the idea of them popping into his head. And is generally well respected here because of his madness but also his well articulated reasoning put behind his predictions.

Also others are saying why is it bad that wii only sells alot of games that start with Wii or Mario Bros well wat happend to games like Street Fighter and Double Dragon and others  that originated on the nes look SF4 is only on HD consoles Wii will always be like N64 and GC it doesn't matter if it's selling more HW than thoose it still only selling the Wii titles and the Mario Bros it's not having a impact in the game industry like wen GTA3 came out or Halo, KZ2, COD, GearsOfWar, old NFS, and future titles like Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, and MAG

I took away about 15k of the wii Sports b/c there were also ps3 bundled games why is there only 54.1% more SW sold compared to there being 64.3% more Wiis even if u count all the Wii Sports the SW % doesn't match the HW%  The HW  were both released in the same time also eventually the ps3 will catch up to million sellers once  PS3 HW#s go up

I didn't add JP b/c good PS3 SW has dropped there yet like FF, SF4, and GT5 but the Tie Ratios are pretty close 4 ps3 and the wii being wii 3.66 and ps3 3.25

You also have to recall that the ps3 is still to high in price, ps3 games cost more than Wii games, and ps3 had a bad 06 & 07 SW line up bottom line the Wii can't sell SW the way ps3 and even 360 can

again a bunch of garbage that just disproves your original post.  So you're saying PS3 has a little higher of an attach rate?  So what?  All your numbers would suggest is that the PS3 would have to sell almost as well as the wii to get the same software, but the truth is it's only selling 1/3 as much. 

PS3 is not selling as fast as the wii the average length of ownership is quite a bit higher on the ps3.  7 months ago the wii userbase was 50% what it is now, 7 months ago the ps3 userbase was 75% of what it is now.

Stop trying to compare third party game sales until Wii gets similar effort from those companies.
