Forums - Sony - Nikkei: Sony expected to post $1.12 billion loss

Why is this important? Because shareholders value this information and reputable analyst's predictions above all else when making a decision. Waiting to see the actual numbers is too late, if you can minimize your cost by selling your stock now the better. Therefore the analyst report is extremely important. I predict their stock will start falling even more from today. If anything this analyst report just hurt them even more.

US Markets surprising as SNE is performing better than I expected in the opening minutes on the Q. SNE closed yesterday at 23.10 and opened today at 22.10, and it really hasn't fluctuated much from there. The 1 point (4%) change isn't nearly as bad as what happened on the markets in Japan. It's a long day, but the news didn't exactly send shareholders running away screaming. Toshiba and Canon are performing even worse than Sony right now.

Full disclosure: I invested in SNE when it tanked to 19.52 back in October.

Yeah, Sony got slammed in Japan yesterday. It's doing slightly better in the US today, however that might be attributed to the Yen weakening slightly in early trading.

Oddly, Nintendo completely bucked the Japanese market and posted a slight gain.

EEDAR and Wedbush Morgan gave their December sales estimates.

Why couldn't we have just waited 3 weeks for the real numbers instead of speculating about an analysts report on the whole of Sony when we really only care about SCE?

Speculation is fun, but really aren't people just going over and over the same material? I swear I saw the same arguments in 3 other Sony threads about this same topic.

You need information before things happen. That is the only way to make money with it.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
