If I read these trends correctly, then I know that:

Xbox 360 will have greater sales than the PS3 in 2009.

Xbox 360 will have greater sales than the PS3 in 2010.

Xbox 360 will have greater sales than the PS3 in 2011.

To tell you the truth, I just don't know anymore really. The above is a joke, you can throw it in with every single lame ass prediction and assertion you've heard. Make sure you pour the shame over the top like gravy for everybody who believed somehow what they were saying was correct. I saw a documentary about cults last week and there are people here who don't act too dissimilarly to the cult members. You know why I was thinking about cults? I actually expect a number of meltdowns from the upcoming NPD and Microsoft/Sony results. What do you call it when people think the good times for them are always going to continue and when the times turn bad that just around the corner the times will suddenly turn good again?

Here are some trends which will help:

Im preparing to graph the Xbox 360 and PS3 gap to see which way the wind is turning. See, a lot of people don't care what each one sells... they just care how much more or less one outsells the other by. So I will give it to them. Starting in the next couple of weeks I am going to:

• Graph the PS3 vs Xbox 360 weekly and culmative sales weekly.
• Graph the PS3 vs PS3 / Xbox 360 vs Xbox 360 08/09 monthly
• Graph the PS3 vs Xbox 360 culmative 08 vs 09 monthly(Sigh)
• Graph the PS2 vs Wii and PS3 montly(Old champ vs new)
• Graph the Wii vs HD Twins monthly

For good or for bad, if this is the information people really want I shall give it to them.

Sony did slightly outsell the 360 for the holliday season...after its price cut. But up until then it was no contest. $599 US dollars would do that...
