I don't mind micro-transactions as long as they're optional and fairly priced ...
With this game I would give them some leeway being that to play most MMO games you have an upfront fee ($50) a monthly subscription fee (over $10) and are charged for (often small) expansions ($50).

I'm wondering what the micro transactions are though. Could you imagine if wow was free monthly but you have to pay micro transactions for vendor stuff. You could potentially pay alot more than a monthly fee. Still, I love the idea of this new MMO.
Looks ok. I'm not a big MMO fan, but I have a couple friends who are. Could be fun, and more importantly free, to play this with them.
I better not have to be a fairy in this game. Other than that it looks alright.
wait...free!? Will the PS3 version be free too!?
Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League
I'm missing something, a game which hopes to make it's money from microtransactions, aimed at kids?
Now, most kids don't have credit cards 0_o.
I know they could borrow their parents or something, but I doubt many parents are going to let their kids buy a video game sword with their money, or whatever. Seems like a recipe for disaster.
Although I understand America has these PS money card things at retail now, maybe it's not so bad.
Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. Kids aren't likely to be spending loads on micro transactions. They may beg their parents for some stuff, but that's about it.

I think it depends on how they do their microtransactions ...
I don't really understand it fully myself, but webkinz are amazingly popular with young children and when you buy a webkinz product it translates into something in the game world. While it is a little geeky, you could take a similar approach with a MMO game and sell small ornaments (sort of like Game Workshop's Warhammer stuff) that attaches to something in game ... While someone might not be willing to spend $10 to gain access to a new realm (or whatnot) in a game, many people would be willing to spend $10 to $20 on an ornament to get access to that realm instead.
