Robbie Bach, president of MS’ entertainment division, revealed that the company has decided to focus its efforts on continuing development of the existing generation console for the foreseeable future.

Now that Microsoft has shown its cards, what new features would you most like to see the company work on integrating into the 360?

so no 720 but keep improving 360.  That's good - I don't want a new console for few years.

Sounds good to me keep adding value to the 360. Save the 720 for 2012-13.

I personally do not mind, I'm having plenty of fun with my 360 now and I don't want to have to run out and drop a ton of money on a new console next year.

Smart move. MS didn't get off to a good start this gen due to the RROD, but given more time this generation, they will both finish strong in terms of hardware quality and improve their image to push them forward into the next gen.

MS doesn't need to release another system for quite a while and here is why:

- We all know xbox 360 moves software with its reduculous attach rate. And this is where the money is made. Even if the 360 starts to sell less year over year after 2009, they have a very good cash cow for atleast another 2 years after that.

- Sony isn't realeasing another system for a loooooong time. For many reasons...but the most obvious one is that they can't afford it.

- They need to figure out how to take on nintendo's blue ocean. No point of rushing to the market with the latest and best specs as that obviously doesn't mean first place anymore

Good. For my part I thought the 6th generation (gamecube, xbox, PS2) was far shorter than it could have been. The PS2 and xbox were really starting to get good towards the end of it! The same couldn't be said for the Gamecube though, but I still enjoyed it.

I hope this generation lasts a long time. Sure, computer games will start to make the console games look old, but looks shouldn't really matter that much for a game anyways, and it'll force devs to work on art style rather than technical merit with regards to graphics.
