Oh. I thought the OP actually has something to say from playing Killzone 2. Turns out, it's just a fanboy rant.

Oh well. When I got an Xbox 360 mainly for a jRPGs, it always has to be associated with Halo and Gears when I don't care about those two franchises at all.

Sony is also partly to blame, since they announce games very early and then tend to delay them... KZ2 and GT5 are the best examples of that. Fortunately FFXIII is not a PS3 exclusive anymore, it should at least reduce the hype levels a bit.

Killzone 2 looks sooo good gameplay wise and graphically that my overly zealous xbox friends who hate ps3 wont shut up about the game, they keep asking me if I have it so they can try it. I keep having to tell them its not out yet.

So I think KZ2 is the first PS3 game that's earned peoples respect, so the internet hype is well deserved.

BTW the PS3 does not need saving, selling consistantly at good numbers and selling over 20 Million units is not needing saving. The PS3 is about 5-8 million from beating the console that came in second place last gen, so how does that need saving?



Still waiting on a New Road Rash and Legend of Dragoon 2...

Quite Ironic. The people who say they are sick of hearing about Killzone 2 and reading threads about Killzone, are posting in a thread about Killzone 2.

I'm not saying anything about Killzone 2, but people played the beta for R2 too and hyped it as the most amazing thing ever.  There was thread after thread touting R2 was going to kill everything and change gaming based on the beta.

Now that the game has released, it has come and gone and proved to be good but nothing spectacular.

I'm not implying that Killzone 2 will be bad in any way at all, I'm just going to wait until the game is released to start getting excited about it.  If I can get my hands on a free demo I'll gladly play that and be happy, but not going to hype the game.

Thread after thread, hmm? Mind actually providing a link (since there were apparently so many)? I don't remember a single person saying that.

Anyways, I don't see the point in this thread. So you hate the game and everyone hyping it. SO WHAT?!! If I made a thread every time something on this site was pissing me off, I'd be the highest poster and the least popular as well. Does trolling the game and its fans give you so much satisfaction?

Blah, I hate this site sometimes. I hope the American software is put up soon, because the forums certainly aren't worth reading.

I don't hate Killzone 2, I'm just sick and tired of hearing about it.

For crying out loud, the first trailer for this game was released to counter Halo 3's first trailer at E3.

Ridiculous.

So you're saying there weren't many threads calling Resistance 2 the next big thing, especially when they started doing the beta?  I think you might be wrong but I'm far too lazy to go find the threads.  :-p

 Ok, but what is hype exactly, other then a prediction of being an amazingly fun game? Are you suggesting that all predictions be right on, or that people just stop making predictions alltogether. This site is all about predictions and yet people love to slap everyone in the face when they make a prediction that comes out false, thusly making fewer people want to make predictions. But then where would these forums go without the predictions of members?

If someone wants to hype a game, let them. Whats really sad is when people's predictions affect someone so much that they need to create an awful thread showing their disgust for it. How sour a person must be if something so little effects them in such a major way.

 Sony fanboys are the loudest? No offense, but that's bullshit. I think it's much more likely that you find them the loudest because in fact you are moreso on the other side of the fence. If you are more partial to the 360, you'll find the ps3 fanboys to be the loudest because their opinions are the ones that differ from your own the greatest. The same goes for ps3 fanboys thinking the 360 fanboys are the loudest. I know that their are idiotic fanboy trolls on both sides. I'm sorry but everytime a thread is openend for any ps3 exclusive, it's immediately filled with trolls bashing the game. WKC was said to only sell 1/4 of what it sold by 360 fanboys and when it turned out to be successful you should have seen the damage control and attacks of it being average because of the larger ps3 install base. And in fact your very own thread about lbp being possibly overtracked exploded into how many pages? I don't think that was just because of ps3 fanboys defending the game for some reason. And after things were clarified some 360 fans had to come up with new ways of saying it failed and was undertracked. Also, I went into a thread about microsoft's new kodu and it was instantly filled with posts attacking LBP instead of actually talking about kodu. Trust me, it's on both sides and it's rarely ever quite.

And what is with this word "saving" always being thrown around with the ps3? Why in fact does it need saving? Because it is currently in third place? It's doing very well. Why should the ps3 have to pass up the 360 when the 360 was out a year earlier? It's doing extremely well comparitively to the 360 a year ago but I don't recall the 360 needing saving then. Does every system need saving if it's not the wii?

Also, it hasn't happened to every ps3 exclusive. Every big named ps3 exclusive though.  But you'd  be crazy to suggest that every big named 360 exclusive doesn't get hyped. Or did no one really care for Halo 3 and Gears 2 before they came out? I think it's great for people to hype games. It keeps them active in the gaming community and neither is it unhealthy. It's great for the gaming community as a hole. Hype = sales = more games. Personally, Killzone 2 looks amazing to me and I am super hyped for it. In fact, if it's everything it looks to be it might very well become my favorite FPS game. Period. Does this mean that it will become the very best FPS game or that it's a failure if it doesn't? No. It just means that personally, thats how excited I am for this game. Why is it ok to be excited for one game and not another. It's ok for you to hype your favorite games but not us? Go hype somehting. Go on. Go batshit crazy with it and I won't whine about it. I promise.
