Have any of you complaining about the hype ever stopped to think..
Oh... Maybe the hype is deserved?

I don't really care if it's deserved or not. I just want to stop having to read things about this game everyday.

Yes, I am aware I don't have to click on the KZ2 threads, but sometimes it's difficult especially when ridiculous threads about it are created (such as comparing its graphics with Crysis).

Have you ever stopped to think how many of the games this year that were uber hyped didn't deserve it? 

Again, not saying Killzone 2 isn't going to deserve it, I would just rather wait until I can get my hands on the game before declaring it OMG best game ever!!!!11!!

Most of the games on the PS3 released in 2008 we're deserved. Most of them lived up to the hype, But i do agree that before declaring it the best game they should own it first, but by the looks of it, it will be an amazing game.

 Ok, but what is hype exactly, other then a prediction of being an amazingly fun game? Are you suggesting that all predictions be right on, or that people just stop making predictions alltogether. This site is all about predictions and yet people love to slap everyone in the face when they make a prediction that comes out false, thusly making fewer people want to make predictions. But then where would these forums go without the predictions of members?

If someone wants to hype a game, let them. Whats really sad is when people's predictions affect someone so much that they need to create an awful thread showing their disgust for it. How sour a person must be if something so little effects them in such a major way.

Predictions don't have to be right on, but just browse the sony forums for five minutes and you'll see thread after thread talking about Killzone 2 and how it's the best game ever.  It's one thing to be excited about a game, it's another to sit there and argue with people that this game is awesome and you're a biased fanboy if you think otherwise even though nobody has played the final game.

And it's also annoying because PS3 fans in particular always have the next big game as their systems savior.  I know it's silly to say, but some things are just true.  Every time a PS3 exclusive is about to be released, there is thread after thread hyping the thread as the next big thing and automatically the best thing ever (and PS3 gamers aren't the only ones to do this, they're just the loudest).

Look back at every other PS3 exclusive and it has happened and I promise you it will happen for every future PS3 exclusive this year.  I'm not ready to call KZ2 back but I am with the people that are pretty sick of it.

These people aren't just predicting and it just gets annoying.
