Forums - Nintendo - Do you use wii wheel?

I used it in the beginning. Then after Rolstoppable lapped me online, I tried the WR+Nunchuck and never looked back.

There are some games that just work better with traditional controls and MK is one of them.

I use it. It may not be the best, but I think it makes the game more fun. I don't even attempt to be competitive at the game so I don't care if it makes me worse.

Love the wheel.

I use it and found it fun, mainly in parties its used, but online or when i'm being competitive, GC controller/Classic controller

i'm shocked at how positive everyone is looking at the wii wheel. when i bought mkwii i was determined to go gc/wavebird as my controller, but tried the wheel. i thought it was better than i expected, so played with it for a few hours.

then i tried wiimote/nunchuck and expected to hate it (this was right after brawl, and i hate the wm/n gameplay there ,and expected this to be the same). however wm/n proved to be excellent for mkwii, and there was no going back to either gc or wheel since.

my kids still prefer the wavebirds, but i'm completely sold on the nunchuck for steering.

the wii wheel has just collected dust ever since. i had no idea so many gamers embraced the wheel as well, thought it was just the expanded market.

BAM! There it is!

If you get lapped by anyone with any controller method then you just suck at the game.  No wonder you always talk crap about Mario Kart.

Wii Remote and Nunchuck is what I used.  I got pretty darned good with the Wii Wheel.  I got a three star ranking with it.  I got even better with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck.  In certain situations when you have to make very small quick movements and you have to zig and zag between five items quickly, then the Wii Wheel doesn't work that well.  Basically, the wheel works pretty well but isn't perfect.

Many people are specifically mentioning it's more fun, so that's the explanation. Once you get good at it, it can also be quite precise, I can easily dodge nearby items with it.

The wii wheel is a lot more fun. The traditional controls are more accurate. So for time trials, I usually go wiimote/nunchuck and for online races, I go wheel.

I'm surprised that a lot still use the gamecube controls. I think doing tricks on it is more difficult since you have to remove your thumb from steering.

Nuh-ih, it was all the crappy wheels fault! After switching I was actually able to keep infront of Rol for a good portion of the following races, though I've never beaten him >_>

You haven't ever beaten him? C'mon. You need to practice more.
