Forums - Nintendo - Bob's Protext -- and Bob's Game -- is Over

EDIT: sorry, double post

.

Around the Network

From that video, it sounds more like it's an adventure game with the standard "overhead/side" view that 2D RPGs have used since forever. And from the various pop-ups in that video, it also sounds like the game is too insanely complicated for anybody to want to play. There's no clear objectives from what the annotations gave away, just a bunch of random stuff about features that most game developers wouldn't bother adding on the back of the case as a selling point.

Not really sure what to say... He obviously put a lot of work into it, and yet...

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Bob is an insult to every indie game developer. I'm glad Nintendo didn't give him the SDK.

I've never seen such an obnoxious person ever.

How so?  Do you think it's easy for them to get an SDK?  If anything, he shows that they should loosen the restrictions, so that indie and other developers can develop games.  If nothing else, restrictions like this will always keep the PC market alive.

Many indie developers have put just as much time and effort into their work as Bob has, yet you see none of them making claims like "I am better than Miyamoto, Wright, Itoi, and Kojima COMBINED." Bob's attitude puts out an image that indie devs are whiny, self indulgent brats, and all giving hims the SDK would do is show that if you want something, cry about it long enough and you'll get it.

blame wii fi for it? suuuure...

sorry for that guy but he would know that this kind of industry is very competutive and companies won't give their kits to any john doe with a game. It may work, yeah, but is not easy.

And making a tantrum is not a way to achieve it either.

Not saying he is a saint, but I've seen far more obnoxious people.  You must not get out much...  lol

Anyways, I didn't realize indie developers were so sensitive that they can get insulted so easily.  I think most people do not develop sterotypes from one person, so there is no reason they should take it as a personal insult.

Exactly.  He should of picked a platform that was more open to begin with...   instead of spending 5 years and then complaining about it...

Every kind of industries got rules that you have to obey ,You can't just jump in and ask everyone in the world to agree with you.

Like warning on a label ,"read before use".But seems he didn't read it.

It doesn't look engaging to your average person. So therefore it looks like he missed the market and made the game he wanted instead.

Tease.
