Forums - Nintendo - Bob's Protext -- and Bob's Game -- is Over

A smart person would complete enough of the game to attract publisher interest and then get the publisher to put pressure on Nintendo for a SDK ...

A smart person problably wouldn't name the game Bob's Game either.

He should have just gone freeware. Cave Story was a game developed by one guy over 5 years, and it gained enough attention as a freeware game that it has been published on different platforms.

I actually hope he can get the game out there somehow, but he should probably take some time off...

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

he needs to put on XBLA and let the people decide if its good.

He said he was approached by publishers.  However, he wants to self publish.

Well that makes him look like more of an idiot then.  If he had an actual publisher Nintendo might have taken him more seriously but there's no chance in Hell they're going to give the random person who thinks they made a good game a Dev Kit.

What? He actually has been approached by publishers, but he wants to self-publish? That's idiotic! Self-publish is what you do when no one will publish you, or you're obscenely rich.

Even a big indie company like High Voltage, who've been a part of the gaming idustry for a long time, worked with multiple-publishers, have a great deal of understanding reguarding making games and putting them on the market opted for a publisher for the Conduit. This guy thinks he's going to manufacture hundreads of thousands of DS cartrdiges, put his game on them, label them, print manual fors them, package them, and ship them off to stores across the country?

O_o

Well here's the game:

>_>

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

What's the objective of the game then? How do you beat it?

I'm not surprised why they did not grant him a dev kit!

I think he said it's a RPG.

Well, all the stuff this guy has done is really impressive, seems better than some games i've played on DS, si I just can't see why nintendo wouldn't grant him SDK to finish it.

He is maybe arrogant and childish, but i give him credits for all the work he has made on his own. It takes time to become decent in any of the fields he managed to be - coding, doing graphics/animation and doing sound.

He is an idiot, but i'm on his side
