Do people actually think Internet hype makes much of a difference? I'd imagine the strong reviews help the legs (Albeit I don't think The Conduit is due that strong a critical reception). If you think of something like Zack & Wiki though, with IGN's Buy Zack and Wiki campaign, lots of other sites praising it / telling people to buy it etc and didn't that have first week sales of like 40k? :/.
Sure enough it got to 500k (Very good sales for a game of that nature), helped mainly due to price cuts, strong reviews and Nintendo publishing / advertising the game in Europe.
Point being, internet hype and forum discussions are so insignificient in judging if a game will sell, and anyone who's been here a few months will be able to produce a list of games which prove that fact either way round for flops and big sellers, on all the consoles.
So er, stop saying that the hype of Mad World and The Conduit will sell it, as it won't make enough of a difference when we're supposedly talking 1 million + sales.
