Forums - Sales - Will MadWorld reach 1 million worldwide sales?

As far as marketing is concerned, I trust SEGA more than any other Wii developer/publisher. Moreso, SEGA has a really good name in Europe and the adult-y boxart will help the game.

700k at least for me; it will get some time but it will get to 1m.

Most people seem to compare this game to No More Heroes (gameplay) , Okami(style) or Manhunt(Violent) when they talk about sales.

Except Madworld seems so incredibly different from these games in almost every way in terms of who it might appeal to and how many units it can move.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Unlikely, the art direction is too niche, it will be overlook just like PoP is.

Nope.........and people ask why Nintendo make casual games. :/

niche game... i'ld say no, but hell some games have surprised us so we'll wait and see

Wow, the first five people simply said "NO". Why are you so negative?
My answer is ye...i mean NO!

It will hit 1 million provided Sega does 2 things.

1. Advertising. They need a strong advertising campaign. I see dozens of HD games with huge advertising campaigns, Sega needs to take note.

2. Sell it to the retailers. Retailers will only buy as many copies as they think the game will sell. Sega needs to convince them of the demand for the title. Many retailers request advertising budgets from the publishers as a guide to for how many to buy. If Sega shows them a very good marketing budget, the retailers are more likely to buy the required number of copies for the game to hit the 1 million mark.

Is there enough market demand there is irrelevant. That question has been answered for a long time now with several titles selling over 1 million copies including some M rated titles. The above is ALL that separates the game from bombing and blowing up, so to speak.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

hopefully, I would buy it anyways yay!

I truly hope that it does not only for the good of sega but in the hope that more companies take a chance and bring out some great non casual games. Honestly I do see it having a battle to reach 1 million, at least in the first year. It may have a shot at reaching 1 million over time but it will all depend on its start so it would need to have good reviews and advertising.

“When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life." - author unknown

Given the fact that the game has recieved a huge amount of press for being violent and looks great I believe it will hit the 2 million mark by Christmas.
