US, January 9, 2009 - Koei confirmed a report from earlier in the week with the formal announcement today of Musou Orochi Z for the PS3.

Musou Orochi Z is a new entry in the series that is known outside of Japan as Warriors Orochi. Details on the PS3 version are scarce, but Koei is promising high quality visuals expected of a PS3 game and the greatest number of on-screen enemies so far for the series. The latter is probably important since this is a Musou game and all.

Unfortunately, aside from the logo you'll see in our media gallery, we don't have any screens yet. Koei did open up an official site for the game today, so we're hoping our first look won't be too far off.

Musou Orochi Z hits Japan on March 12. A release outside of Japan has yet to be announced, but is probably a sure thing.

Warriors Orochi...? sounds terribly familiar...

It's a remake of both Orochi 1 and 2 for the PS2 in one game, or so I've read. anyway, knowing that's a Koei game, I'm sure it's not worth much hype

Warriors Orochi is like Dynasty Warriors (gameplay).

Only I prefer the game more because it haves an more epic story or a kind of story I like.


Orochi (lord of the snakes, ) comes to earth and capture the generals of the Shu/Wu/Shei empires (China).

The game is special because it also includes officers/samurai's from Japan like Nobunaga and it feels great to see those officers who are normally enemies coloborate with each other to defeat Orochi.

Nuff said, this is a game for Dynasty Warriors fans, if you hated Dynasty Warriors you will also hate Warriors Orochi.

But I love it =p.

So is it any good did anyone play it on ps2.

Hopefully it will be ported to 360 when it makes it way over here, if not I will just have to wait till I get a PS3 to play it I supose... : /

It's Warriors Orochi and Warriors Orochi 2 combined into one game. There will be new playable characters (supposedly, I hear Benkei is one), new story stages, new Dream Mode stages, the ability to play as any characters in Dream Mode, and also the ability to play as Dodomekki and Gyuki in Story Mode.

Well considering how shocked I was that Koei could release 6 in such a poor state, enemies literally appeared right beside me, the pop up was so bad, I am not going to get excited by another of their games

judging by reviews this game will fail hard.

You can't though, reviewers hate warriors games as if the mighty corporate fist of Koei reached out and punched a kitten right in front of them or something. The series is good, though lately Koei has been getting lazy as of late. When Koei actualy puts in a good effort though, warriors games are hella fun.
