This I believe is what they are attempting to do with the Dragon Quest series by putting it on the DS and Wii and with the "advertising" nintendo hinted at it looks like they are going to try to make Dragon Quest as or nearly as popular as FF worldwide. I hope they can cause I love both franchises.
Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.
One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

if they want million sellers in Japan they kinda need to stop the 360 exclusive stuff, that is unless that can get people to buy 2 games there....
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
Then they should make some better games with less bugs there last two big games flopped LR & ID
