Forums - Sony - I think LBP could have long legs

Everybody I show the game too smiles and wants to keep playing, this is one of those games, much like Wii Sports, where people just have fun playing it. I might be completely wrong, but I think it could sell for awhile, one of my friends bought her first videogame console (Wii) and she came over and played LBP and fell in love with it and automatically wanted to know if they have that for Wii, and I said only for PS3 and then she wanted to know the price of the PS3, and that's when she gave up buying the console and the game lol.

The controller bundles in Japan will probably be there all year, ensuring the game sells a decent (for Japan) 1-2K a week....The point is, I think the game will have a good word of mouth and sell well for awhile.

depends how long they advertise it

"After you win, son, I feel like going for a ride on your bike, haha." ~Doc Louis (Punch Out Wii)

I've been saying this since before release. The fact that it can't be explained via marketing and boxarts, but pulls people in once they actually play it, shows that this game will sell primarily due to word of mouth. The user generated content will also give the game plenty of longevity.

I certainly hope so. Word of mouth is the reason Uncharted has continued to sell all this time, and hopefully the same thing LittleBigPlanet should do the same thing

I think the fact that 4 players can be paid at the same time should help spread it

They do need to fix the lagging online though, but more importantly they need to release a demo on PSN, really Sony, What the Fuck?

^ what kind of demo would do justice to this game? they could put a couple story levels and a minigame, but how do you accurately show the level creation without giving away too much? we've all seen demos that do no justice to how great the full game is, and it seems like this would be one of those cases.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

no it wont legs are for wii games

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

& Call of duty 4

Only if they bundle it with every PS3...

LittleBigPlanet already has shown to have longer legs than most games. I expect the fact that it's winning quite a few GOTY awards should help sales a bit if Sony slaps a sticker on each copy touting it.
