Forums - Sales - Will there be an Obama effect for Wii sales?

The (soon to be) most powerful man in the World and the most powerful woman in the World, HM Queen Elizabeth II have a Wii.

Who says the Wii isn't hardcore?

Is official the Wii will be in shortages until 2020

Are you suggesting that they're going to amend the constitution so that Obama can serve tree terms?

Didn't Bush get rid of that already?

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I can see it now.....

Obama: Alright now, leaders of Israel and leaders of Palestine, I have a way to find peace in Jerusalem once and for all!

I challenge you to a game of Wii Tennis! If I beat both of you, you both have to stop fighting once and for all! If I lose, I will not stand in your way of destroying each other.....

If you don't accept my offer, you will be deemed as chickens and I will stop the fight with my army!....so accept my challenge!!!!

.....of course, if a President of the United States really did that, then I know the end of the world is near...

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

I think it will have some affect on the sales.

Nah; it'll just take that long to clear out the backlog of orders after he leaves office.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

Be the ultimate ninja! Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN today! Poisson Village welcomes new players.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Hundreds? HM has been on Forbes' 100 most powerful women since it began (and others). The only reason why she doesn't get Number 1 is because the fact she's Commander in Chief of the 3rd/4th most powerful military (without including Canada and OZ) ISN'T taken into account. I understand what you mean with "hardly any power" but that's because she chooses not to use it. The Armed forces take their oath VERY seriously.

Currently, Angela Merkel (German Chancellor) is number 1 but I don't think she has access to nukes but she probably does have a Wii ;)
