CD - to be fair, XBL users do have themes and avatars that cost $$$.

I was going to prove you wrong, but then I figured you were correct...
3.8 dollars/month, right?
Assuming 15M XBL payers = 57M dollars a month.
Thats 1M every 12 hours.
If it's just 10M payers, 18 hours.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS
Let the people who want to pay for it pay for it. I just won't pay, but will hopefully reap the rewards of increased company revenue. Some people are sad, but those sad people can make me happy.
Are people realling comparing XBL and Home? Seriously?
Free service, with the added option of purchasing items.
XBL, forced to pay to play.
wut people are crazy man
mabe home will turn up a success for sony in a couple of months

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
While this figure is higher than I imagined it would be, it's not a huge figure. I'll wait until the first yearly figure comes out before saying anything. If they get less than $15m in revenue, it's not a huge deal, but if it starts to creep up to $50m, I'll say they are doing really well for themselves.
That said, I loathe the idea of microtransactions of any kind. Especially for content in/for games. When I get a game I do not want to pay for content, no matter what I paid for it in the first place.
It always amazes me that people actually pay for these things, be it gold in World of Warcraft, land in Second Life or Pay-per-view. BAH!
Hopefully Home will make Sony some money to keep the gaming division profitable enough for the PS3 to get a pricecut.
This is invisible text!
i would have never guessed O_o?
bravo to Sony for realizing the market for this!

whats really impressive is that the website said HOME was dled by 3.4 million people. $1 million on only 3.4 million downloads. i find that REALLY impressive.
I don't get why people are so surprised by this... $1 million doesn't seem abnormal to me.
It's a good amount, but not extraordinary. Remember Home has ongoing costs on servers and continued development.

The argument that I was trying to make was/is that $1 million isn't as huge as some people make it out to be - especially given the fact that Home has roughly 3.4 million users. Especially given the fact that optional items are part of the monetization scheme for PSN, and the $1m could always include other 'goods' that are monetized outside of what we know.
And that $1m isn't huge given the fact that Home isn't some sort of fluke - it's cost Sony a ton of money to build. I wonder how far that $1m has gone to pay off what home cost to build over the past 2 years (and of that $1m Sony made, how much of it actually went in their hands as profit).
But we'll probably never know what that $1m breaks down to....So I'm hesitant to say that it's good or bad - $1m in revenue is about what an XBLA game brings in (a decent XBLA game) in the same amount of time which cost far less than what Home did, most likely.
