It's not about believing official sources over VGChartz in this thread, it's nitpicking over what the guy said. 

Did he mean shipped, sold, or played?  All three things mean very different things for the final number and that's what people are nitpicking about, not whether Kaz or NPD is right.

I know it's nearly 400 posts long, but at least attempt to figure out what the thread is about before criticizing the website.

What are you talking about? Some people do believe this site over NPD, Gfk, etc....some people, such as myself, believe the official numbers but use this site as a measuring stick for the sales.

But still undoubtedly that this news had make many people think about VG's credibility!!

Could we just ignore that this ever happen and keep going on about our happy lives knowing that LBP is about to hit 2 million (according to VG Chartz)

Why are you willing to use VG Chartz's numbers over official numbers when it makes LBP look good but in your sig you don't use the VG Chartz console sales numbers because it makes the 360 look better and the PS3 worse?

What? I can't really add anything else to my sig or I'll get banned for taking up to much sig space, I don't really understand where your getting at with "making the 360 look better then PS3" part?

Edit: yeh after reading what Torillian said I undertsand now, hes right the "Failed" and "Close" comments just mean I failed at predicting the Wii and Xbox 360 but I came about a million away from the PS3 so I said close. There my 08 predictions I made about 7 months ago.

The sales figures you quote in your signature have lower 360 sales than VG Chartz' and higher PS3 sales than VG Chartz'. If you trust VG Chartz so much that it is more believable over the official NPD numbers and even Kaz Hirai's reporting, then one would think that you would also trust VG Chartz's console sales. Why not use those in your sig?

After all, MS just had a press release stating how their lead has grown over the PS3 worldwide to over 8 million consoles. Why do your numbers mysteriously cut that in half to 4? Fanboy?
