That was weird. >_>
Anyhoo, Kaz said 'played', that's all I'm saying, and I'd like to reserve judgment until we get someone to say 'shipped'. If someone says '1.3 million shipped', then that's what it is, but he said 'played'. So sue me. >_>

Where did he say played? I don't see that quoted anywhere, and I read many reports quoting him already.
Also, he'd have to say, "according to the NPD" if they were actually sold-to-consumer copies or else he simply would not know.
C'mon, you've been here for a while.
I suppose it's a matter how you see these things. From this company I see more incompetence than malice. Sony probably has the worst ministry of propaganda since Atari. They probably couldn't sell immortality either.
Stating that the $199 Xbox 360 arcade will actually cost you $499 and therefore Sony is the cheapest isn't malice to you? Consider that two of the costs: $150 hard drive and $100 wireless adaptor are obviously intended to be misleading as:
(1) the "$150" hard drive upgrade is available in the Xbox 360 premium and
(2) No hardcore gamers would use wireless for online as wired is /always/ better.
And then they added in "The Xbox 360 didn't always come with HDMI on all models." What does that have to do with it? Well, nothing, but it's standard FUD practice to willfully mislead.
